- Before creating a subscription plan, you need to create item records for the products and services included in your subscriptions. These items may include recurring services, usage, commit plus overage, and one-time charges. 🛠️
2. Navigate to Create New Item
- In NetSuite, go to Lists > Accounting > Items > New. 🔍
3. Select Item Type
- Choose the appropriate Item Type. Subscription items must be either:
- Non-Inventory Item: Click on For Sale or For Resale.
- Service Item: Click on For Sale or For Resale.
4. Enter Item Details
- In the top left Item Name/Number field, enter a descriptive name (e.g., “My First Item”). ✏️
- Optionally define additional fields such as Class, Department, or Location for better organization and reporting.

5. Configure Tax Schedule
- Navigate to the Accounting subtab.

- Here you will see a box labeled Fulfilled/Received.
- For non-inventory items, this box is checked by default; it must be cleared.
- For service items, this box is unchecked by default.
7. Save Your Item
